BIG BEAP

In 24/25, Big BEAP has one project each term!

Christmas Term - Cinderella the Panto school year 7-13

Easter Term - Annie the Musical school year 7-10

Summer Term - West End Showcase school year 7-13

BIG BEAP is for children in Secondary School.

Rather than run a weekly session we run three short courses , one per term, to widen every student's repetoire, keep them performing when they may be otherwise busy, continue to develop all three aspects of musical theatre, develop confidence on the stage, work through three different genres through the year but take each of them all the way through to performance and not forgetting make new friends with like minded students and have a great time!

We use an industry model to give the students a real glimpse into what life would be if you were cast in a West End Show and use the best professionals around to support each and every student. We celebrate all the victories we see every time we perform whether that be the leading man with an eye to a west end career or a student in the ensemble stepping out of their comfort zone and being amazing on the stage. We nurture each and every student.

We pride ourselves on hearing new students tell us how inclusive we are and how welcome they felt from day 1. Joining us really is like joining one big BEAP family.

This is a pick n mix offer so you can choose to do just one course through the year or 2 or even 3 depending on what suits you, your free time and your family/school commitments. The cost of each course is the same £175 but if you do sign up for 2 or more than there is a 10% discount applied to each course.

Each course follows the same format of 5 rehearsal days and 2 performing days. Easter and Summer are during the holidays but the Christmas Panto takes place during Sundays in November and then the performance weekend 30 Nov.1 Dec. Please see each individual page for details on each course.

Our Musical in a week this year  is Annie! With expert and experienced planning of how to make this a success we bring together our BEAP team of experts who work our students hard to put on a musical in a week. The students get breaks and downtime to enjoy the surroundings of Liverpool's Georgian Quarter and the new friendships they are making with like minded people but also work through a structured programme to make sure we are show ready within the week!

The performances at the end of the week are in the City of Liverpool's Theatre state-of-the-art theatre. All costumes, set, lighting and sound are poured into a full performance to give the students a glimpse at what it is really like in the industry to do a full show from beginning to end. The students gain invaluable skills through the week in all areas of singing, acting and dancing. All students receive some of the best musical theatre training in the North-West, with vocal coaching from choral directors at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and dance training from esteemed choreographer Jo Walls.

Whether you have been a BEAPER for many years or are thinking "This looks fab but I don't know anyone!" than don't hesitate as we will make you so welcome and by the end of the week you will be so proud of not only what you have achieved but what the whole cast has accomplished by working together.

Our Big Beapers are very important to us, and so for the first time this year we are offering three courses for all to take part in. You can join Big BEAP alone, yet joining two or more of our courses will open you up to a 10% discount from the £175 fee for each show. Check out the pages for our Winter Pantomime, Easter Musical Annie and Summer West End course for more information.

    BIG BEAP HISTORY

in 2019 we ran our first BIG BEAP - Mary Poppins and what a joy it was. What they achieved in a week was just amazing and they went on to perform magnificently at the end of the week. See the gallery for photos and videos.

in 2020 we auditioned for The Little Mermaid and cast, but it was not meant to be as the Pandemic hit and we never made it to rehearsal stage

2021 was full of uncertainty around what was allowed and not allowed especially in Performing Arts so we made the decision to not attempt to do a BIG BEAP this year.

In 2022 we were back with a bang when we performed two shows of Matilda Jr after only 5 days of rehearsal in our new performing home of The City of Liverpool College. It was a fantastic week, with children getting to work with award winning west end choreographer Ewan Jones.

2023 We achieved an excellent performance of The Little Mermaid, with choreographer Frannie Sheppard at the heel. We were back in the college for our second course, and were finally able to achieve what we'd been longing to do since we were interrupted in 2020.

2024 was an exciting year for Big BEAP, as the company produced our first West End themed Camp. Featuring performances from Guys and Dolls, Aladdin, Chicago, Mary Poppins, Six and more, the 2.5 hour performance was a raucous success. Check out the page dedicated to our summer 2025 course for more information. We capped off our 2024 show season with 3 performances of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from a stellar Big BEAP cast. The production received standing ovations each night from a wowed audience.
